Woy Woy Peninsula Little Athletics Club (WWPLAC)
DESCRIPTION
Woy Woy Peninsula Little Athletics caters for children from the age of six to seventeen years of age and provide competition on a weekly basis.
We promote self-development, emphasise positive attitudes, personal growth and healthy lifestyles.
No experience is necessary and we provide all athletes with a supportive and inclusive environment and simply encourage children to achieve their Personal Best (PB) and improve their performance over the season.
Children participate in gender-based age groups in a range of events including sprints; middle and long-distance runs; hurdles; vertical and horizontal jumps including long jump and high jump and various throwing events including javelin, shot put and discus. Our athletes learn about basic techniques and have an opportunity for additional coaching if they are interested.
Events are rotated on a weekly basis and over a season athletes will compete in each event several times. The number of events athletes compete in each week depends on their age group. Children who participate will have the chance to compete in zone, regional and state championships subject to them qualifying.
ACTIVITIES OFFERED
Woy Woy Peninsula Little Athletics provides the following participation options:
Competition is held every Friday night from October to March from 6pm at McEvoy Oval. Age groups participate in 3-5 events each week depending on their age and include track and field events.

It depends heavily on what the disability is. Para-athletic events and competition opportunities are available. However participation in all events for some types of disability is not possible at our club. Disabled parking, access to the club house, track and field is available. It would be useful to contact us to discuss your needs further. |
