What is Get Active San Remo and Blue Haven?

Get Active San Remo and Blue Haven is an initiative developed in partnership between Central Coast Council, the NSW Office of Sport – Central Coast, and Central Coast Local Health District’s Health Promotion Service. The initiative is supported by local community members and organisations such as schools, early learning centres, community centres and more. Get Active encourages the local community to be more physically active by participating in sport, active recreation and healthy lifestyle program opportunities made available by local providers.

Based on community feedback (through a community survey and face-to-face consultation) a calendar of sport, active recreation and healthy lifestyle programs was developed and promoted to the community in October 2022 and 2023.

Following the success of the month-long showcases, many of the opportunities are ongoing and available to the community year-round. People looking to get, or keep, active are encouraged to take a look at what’s on offer and get in contact with one or more of the many local providers.

If you are a sport, active recreation or healthy lifestyle program provider and want to get involved in the initiative, we would we would love to hear from you. There are many benefits to being part of Get Active, including increasing awareness of your services in the community, the potential to attract new participants and volunteers, the opportunity to gain valuable insight into what the community is looking for in a sporting club or from an active recreation provider, and ultimately, contributing to improving the health and wellbeing of the community.
