  • Volunteer experience in various sports, including Club President

  • Father to 2 young boys, who play multiple sports here on the Central Coast

Sport Central Coast Vision

To represent the sporting community of the Central Coast, in executing our Regional Plan, to best allow men, women, boys and girls of the Central Coast to enjoy and participate in sport and activerecreation.

Ian Robilliard OAM
-Deputy Chairperson-

  • Professional sports administrator for 25+ years (PGA Australia, Central Coast Academy of Sport, Sydney Kings, Regional Academies of Sport inc)
  • Former professional Athlete (Basketball Newcastle Falcons and Sydney Kings)
  • Former Professional Coach (Head Coach Sydney Kings)
  • Current Directorships include: Chair Regional Academies of Sport Inc, Central Coast Academy of Sport Ltd, Central Coast Basketball and Mingara Leisure Group
  • Received an OAM in 2017 in recognition for service to sport as a player, coach and administrator

Sport Central Coast Vision:

To be an effective ‘voice’ for the sport and active recreation sector of the Central Coast region. To develop opportunities in sport, events and active recreation otherwise not possible in a transparent and considered way for our region.

Bronwyn Rumbel
-Treasurer-

  • Enjoys the region’s active recreation opportunities in particular, bushwalking, cycling and the beach.
  • Uses the region’s sporting facilities indoor and outdoor courts, fields, and pools.
  • Netball player, umpire and volunteer.
  • Chair of Central Coast Heart.
  • CPA and MBA qualified.
  • Currently working at Central Coast Local Health District.

Mardi Love
-Secretary-

  • Professional sports administrator for 20 years (Office of Sport)
  • Multiple volunteer roles in Coaching, Officiating, Administration across Swimming, Netball, Soccer, Water Polo, Surf Life Saving (Current President Terrigal SLSC)
  • Former teacher schools and outdoor education
  • Past Board Member Central Coast Leagues Club
  • Mum of two involved in several sport and active recreation activities

Sport Central Coast Vision:

To encourage and enable Central Coast sport and active recreation organisations to work together (unite as one voice) to advocate for and celebrate the vital role that sport and recreation plays in our community. Together we will be stronger.

Phil Ayres
- Board Member-

  • Over 25 year’s experience in the sport industry working across both professional, high performance and community level sport
  • Currently the Chief Operating Officer at Surf Life Saving NSW, a membership organisation of 75,000+ members
  • Have undertaken a variety of roles in local clubs including coaching and committee level roles
  • Through my two children have been and continue to be involved in various sports clubs on the Central Coast

Sport Central Coast Vision:

To facilitate alignment amongst the sport and active recreation community on the Central Coast, and thereby enabling the community to access and enjoy best in class sport and active recreation outcomes

Shaun Mielekamp
- Board Member-

  • A Western Sydney boy, Shaun began a career in retail with Footlocker, working his way up to National Manager of New Zealand
  • Over 15 years of professional sport administration experience, with South Sydney Rabbitoh’s, Penrith Panthers, Western Sydney Wanderers and now Central Coast Mariners
  • A 14 year resident of the Coast with his wife and 4 young boys, Shaun is regularly found on the BBQ at Kariong Cougars Football Club, where he is also Coaching Coordinator.

Sport Central Coast Vision:

I am very passionate that sport on the Central Coast can be a catalyst for real change and progression in our community. Through collaboration we can shift the perceptions of the Coast so that participants, athletes, volunteers and sports professionals alike consider the Central Coast as a destination for sports excellence at all levels. Whether it is grassroots, elite pathways or professional sport the Central Coast can provide the Australian sporting landscape with something very special and uniquely “ Coastie ”.

Steve Allan
- Board Member-

  • Works in media and commentary roles including Basketball, A League, Rugby League, with NBN and 2GO radio.
  • The Voice of the NRL has worked at every Grand Final since 1999, including hosting the post match presentation at Grand Finals and State of Origins
  • A six time Best Sports Presenter Provincial awardee at the Australian Commercial Radio Awards
  • A keen surf life saver competing at Masters level and dad of two in a sports “enthusiast” family, including water polo and surf lifesaving amongst many activities
  • Board member of Donnica Clarke Foundation

Sport Central Coast Vision:

From my media perspective my vision is to promote and highlight Central Coast sport, its athletes and the region to showcase the incredible talent our organisations produce.

Riley Sohier
- Board Member-

  • A Rugby League, Cricket, Football, Touch Football, Judo, Tennis participant, which included representative participation in Touch Football and Cricket.
  • Served on Touch Football and Cricket committees.
  • Worked with NSW Touch Football for 17 years as a Development Officer, Member Services Coordinator and Development Manager, including tournament management of Junior State Cup
  • Still participating as a football player in over 45’s and refereeing on the Central Coast. Recently commenced as a participant with Central Coast Rowing Club.
  • Currently Chair of Central Coast Sports Council and MPIO with the Hunter Western Regional Touch Football Committee.

Sport Central Coast Vision:

Sport Central Coast is a wonderful way to allow local sporting bodies to collaborate to solve the many issues facing the local sporting community and to ensure the opportunities for everyone to play sport exist well into the future.

ADAM KIDD
- Board Member-

  • Over nine years’ experience working in the sporting industry across professional, high performance and community level sport.
  • Currently Sports Activation and Development Officer for Central Coast Council.
  • Former Media Communications and Public Relations Manager at Country Rugby League.
  • Former Media and Communications Officer and Digital Media Producer for New South Wales Rugby League and NSW State of Origin team

Sport Central Coast Vision:

I am passionate about the role that sport plays as a vehicle for creating strong, connected, welcoming and inclusive communities. In my role as Sports Activation and Development Officer for Central Coast Council, I aim to support the aims of Sport Central Coast through collaboration and the identification of opportunities to facilitate the development and enhancement of our local sport and active recreation sector.

MATT SAWYER
- Board Member-

Matt was proudly born and bred on the Central Coast and is currently a Project Officer with the Office of Sport, Central Coast Region.

Matt graduated from UNSW in 1995 with a Bachelor of Sport Science and spent the next 8 years working in Exercise and Occupational Rehabilitation, before joining the Department of Sport and Recreation (now Office of Sport) as a Development Officer in 2003.

Growing up in a sporty family, Matt played many sports in his youth before settling on Touch Football as his main sport in his mid-teens. He went on to represent NSW and Australia in Schoolboys (CHS) Touch, followed by NSW and Australian Mixed Open Touch representation, being the first male Touch player from the Central Coast to represent Australia at Open Level.

With a Diploma of Business (Governance) and over 20 years’ experience in not-for-profit club governance and promotion of safe, fair and inclusive sport, Matt has a passion to continue to support the growth and development of sport and active recreation across the Central Coast.
