Wheelchair Sports NSW/ACT

DESCRIPTION

Wheelchair Sports NSW/ACT operates under the vision that everyone in NSW/ACT can enjoy the benefits of sport alongside each other. We achieve this by providing sporting opportunities for people living with a physical disability in our 8 managed sports of Wheelchair Basketball, Wheelchair Aussie Rules, Wheelchair Rugby, Wheelchair Tennis, Para-Powerlifting, Disability Lawn Bowls, Wheelchair Track and Road, and Frame Running.

Our athletes compete with a large range of disabilities including amputation, mobility issues, stroke, cerebral palsy and many more. The beauty of our programs is the focus on reverse inclusion, meaning that able-bodied people are more than welcome to play as well. Our Central Coast hub is our newest hub in Northern NSW since the inception of the Niagara Park Wheelchair Basketball program in early 2020. Our Central Coast hub has a range of athletes with varying abilities from newcomers to national league players.

Membership is free and everyone is welcome to come along and be part of the Wheelchair Sports NSW/ACT community.

ACTIVITIES OFFERED

Wheelchair Sports NSW / ACT offer the following participation options:

Our Central Coast hub will host the first Wheelchair Basketball Club Challenge event of 2021, which will see basketball hubs from across NSW gather for a day of basketball in the sprit of participation and fun. Our weekly training hub is open to all members every Friday from 5:00pm – 6:30pm.
