Terrigal Wamberal Little Athletics
DESCRIPTION
Terrigal Wamberal Little Athletics was established as a community athletics club in 1984 and is associated with and governed by Little Athletics NSW (LANSW).
TWLA registers athletes from Tiny Tots (age 4 by December 31 in the season of registration) to U17 (age 16 by December 31 in the season of competition) and welcomes athletes of all skills and abilities.
TWLA’s rotation program allows athletes to experience all contested events for their age group over a three-week period. We offer training sessions on Wednesday afternoons which is included in the cost of membership and also provide opportunities to compete in external competitions and championships.
TWLA is an entirely volunteer-run organisation – with all parents/carers participating in some capacity during the course of the season.
TWLA encourages personal development through the achievement of “personal best” results and maintains a reward and recognition program that recognises these achievements as well as outstanding results within the club or external competitions.
ACTIVITIES OFFERED
All age groups compete in a mixture of running, jumping and throwing events each week. Depending on your age group, these events may include sprints (50m, 70m, 100m, 200m, 400m), distance (500m, 700m, 800m, 1500m, 3000m), hurdles (60m, 80m, 90m, 100m, 200m, 300m), long jump, high jump, triple jump, discus and shot put.

TWLA is committed to adapting existing activities to cater to the inclusion of an athlete's disability within the limitations of the facility where we compete. For example, activities for an athlete who uses a wheelchair may be more limited than activities for an athlete who is hearing or vision impaired.
